You can reap the rewards of two charitable events this week, both of which benefit students in Plainfield.
For the Field Benefit Show
Tonight, Mc Enigma of hip hop duo Negros Americanos will have yet another annual concert for his Emagin Book Scholarship, which began ten years ago. All proceeds will go to graduating Plainfield High School Seniors, towards their freshman year books.
“For the Field,” hosted by Kaila Boulware will begin at 8pm, tonight, April 6th, at Hugo’s Lounge at 108 Church Street in Plainfield. See pictures from last year’s show here. I’ll be on hand with my camera again this time around.
Attendees are asked to make a $5 donation, though any larger amounts are certainly appreciated. Those who can not attend can still arrange to donate by emailing negrosamericanos@gmail.com.
Give a little, and enjoy an interesting array of good music in return.
PAAAS Clothing Drive Fundraiser
Create some extra space in your home this weekend by donating to the Plainfield Academy for the Arts and Advanced Studies clothing drive fundraiser. Your donation will benefit the PAAAS PTO, which distributes funds for school trips, master guests speakers, scholarships, and the like.
In addition to gently used or new clothing, they will also accept bicycles, small toys, backpacks, linen, purses, belts, hats, and glasswear seats. You can drop of your donation at PAAAS, 1600 West Front Street, between 10am and 3:30pm on Saturday, April 9th. Between now and then, the PTO is more than willing to pick up your donation if you email paaaspto@yahoo.com or call (908) 616-5016. See the flyer below or download it here.
