On Wednesday Evening at Bethany Baptist Church, the People’s Organization for Progress held their Black History Month event that had previously been cancelled due to snow. I’ve seen both POP Chairman Larry Hamm and scholar activist Cornel West speak many times, but was nonetheless impressed with them on Wednesday night. The entire event lasted a couple of hours and featured a question and answer session at the end. If you’d like to skip around, Larry Hamm’s speech begins at the 11:20 mark, and Dr. West’s at around 33:00 into the video.
