My last post, late Tuesday, showed (link) my first day and a half in Jodhpur, India, the second largest city in Rajasthan. I stayed in that city from Monday around noon until a Thursday afternoon flight back to Delhi, where I spent Friday and Saturday. It’s Saturday evening now, and I will begin the trip back home late tonight after catching a play on the way to the airport. Anyway, here’s what I saw the last three and a half days in Jodhpur and Delhi.

This is the Jaswant Thada in Jodhpur. Not far from the big fort, its called the Taj Mahal of Rajasthan.

Dana wore traditional dress several days of our trip.

This man offered to take a picture with me.
On Thursday, my last morning in Jodhpur, I decided to take a two hour walk around the city.

This stepwell in Jodhpur’s old city is hundreds of years old.

The Clock Tower area was desolate before the market opened, during my early morning walk.

Yet another view of the fort, from Om Cafe, a minute or so by foot from “King’s Retreat”, where we stayed.
And on Thursday it was back to Delhi, only a one hour flight from Jodhpur.

Delhi was overcast and rainy on Friday, our last full day there.

A view from our South Delhi balcony Friday evening.
I’ll wrap up this post with a couple of photos I put on instagram today. I don’t have time to edit them.

It’s 6pm Delhi time, Saturday (7:30am in New York). Tonight, we are headed to the theater to see a play Delhi before going to the airport. After a six-hour midnight flight to Guangzhou, China, I’ll have a 19-hour layover in the Chinese manufacturing hub. I don’t really know what to expect but I’m looking forward to a day in China. As long as we can use Uber, we should be alright.
Thanks for sharing, if you ever need a travel companion…
Your writing and photography are a pleasure. I won’t ever go to India, but I’m glad you did.
