George Clinton, Parliament perform FREE in Newark today (and how to get there)

Plainfield’s own Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic will perform in front of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark this afternoon. The free event, which lasts from 5pm until 7pm, is in partnership with Newark Pride.

Parking is readily available around NJPAC, located at 1 Center Street.

For those who’d like to use public transportation from Plainfield or Netherwood Train stations, there are several trains that will have you arrive in Newark for the concert. Round trip train tickets cost $14 from Plainfield, or $12 from Netherwood.

After arrival at Newark Penn station, travelers can catch the Newark Light Rail towards Broad Street Station and get off at NJPAC, which is the first stop. The light rail costs $3 round trip.
