To Annecy (photos)

I expected to be under cloudy and rainy skies until Friday of this week no matter which city I was in, so today’s suprisingly beautiful weather was a real treat. The scenic route which we cycled from Dingy-Saint-Clair to Annecy was surely longer than the seven or so miles that separate the two places. Here are some pictures from the midday trip there, and the late afternoon trek back.

Anyone who has watched the cult hit TV series “The Returned” would recognize this as Adele’s House. Those who don’t will see just a house, but you can always watch “The Returned” on Netflix.

This bar in Dingy-Saint-Clair will be featured in the second season of “The Returned.” All filming locations for the supernatural drama are in the immediate vicinity of Annecy.

For much of my time in the center Annecy today it was raining before clearing out for our return trip. Here is a picture of it’s most well known monument, the Palais de L’Isle, an old prison turned architectural exhibition. I took this photo in 2011.

Tomorrow I go up to Paris.
