While I can’t say I’m a fan of sci-fi, I found the premise rather clever. In 2016, “pharmaceutical reparations” are considered for African Americans – allowing those who take a new drug to regain the memories and experiences of their ancestors. Bishop plays the test patient of this drug, called No Boni.
The film was shot in Newark, New Jersey and Accra, Ghana this fall by director DuBois Nii-Armaah Ashong of Newark-based Mindframe Filmworks. You can see Ashong’s film reel here, and watch the No Boni trailer below.
I’ll let you know when No Boni is released.
