At Netherwood Station just before noon, I was one of three people on the platform headed to Washington Square Park, the planned starting point of the Saturday’s Millions March against police violence. Hours later, over 50,000 people had participated in a four mile demonstration that ended at One Police Plaza in Lower Manhattan – all planned through social media and blogs. Some protesters went on to shut down the Brooklyn Bridge for the third time in as many weeks. As we made our way up to Herald Square, I had my camera out.
Great photos of a great march. It was a bit overwhelming–I got a good photo of the marchers at Herald Square. Those Santa Con folks, though….
A luta continua.

We must follow up the marches with petitions to local and national politicians to create new laws to protect our young men. Please join me by signing the petition at this URL http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/laws-to-protect-unarmed?source=c.em&r_by=12033806
